Pembrokeshire born, Stewart has grown up and lived in Stepaside all his life, where he now resides with his wife, Elizabeth and two children, Daniel and Charlotte. On leaving Greenhill School, Tenby, Stewart joined Welsh Water as an engineering apprentice and attained his O.N.C. and H.N.C. in Civil Engineering. He worked with the company for 24 years before completing his life-long ambition to work in the funeral profession.
As well as being a Funeral Director, Stewart continues to monitor and develop the long-term strategy of the business. He believes training and development are a key aspect of moving the company forward. As well as achieving his Foundation Certificate in Funeral Service in 2004, he has recently completed his Certificate in Funeral Practice with the IFD College and hopes to continue his professional development.
When not working Stewart enjoys spending time with family and friends and also continues his interest in music as organist at a local Chapel. He is also a member of Saundersfoot Rotary Club, where he participates in supporting local community projects.
Born in Glamorgan, Elizabeth moved to Creswell Quay, Pembrokeshire with her family and attended Greenhill School, Tenby. It was there she met Stewart, who she later married. After working in a local business, she left full-time employment to raise a family. When their children, Daniel and Charlotte started school Elizabeth returned to work as a teaching assistant at a local school.
Supporting Stewart in his vocation she joined the funeral business and together they continue to develop E. C. Thomas & Son, to serve the local communities in which they live.
Elizabeth manages the finance and administration side of the business as well as assisting with funeral duties. She has attended courses with the IFD College and hopes to continue her studies.
In her spare time she enjoys swimming, music and local and national heritage.
